Today I took an old tire that I got for free at a tire shop and put it to work in the field. This is an insanely good conditioning tool and you’ll crush your entire body using it properly. If you don’t have one, just head to any tire store and ask if they have any throw away’s and they will likely give you one.
Mine had a small hole in the wall so they were happy to hand it over and I built a homemade tire sled with it a few years back. I wanted to get creative with these exercises and there is really no limit to the number of ways you can use a tire for training.
It’s clunky and awkward, which works to your advantage and will work your muscles like you’ve never done before.
Some of these are pretty easy and some are damn hard. Build your workout using ones that you can do while in full control of the tire. Choose 5-6 and get to work!
Here are the tire exercises in order:
- Thrusters
- In/out Push-Ups
- Circle Push-Ups
- Single Arm Squats
- Russian Twists
- Incline Mountain Climbers
- Slams
- V-Sit Press
- Pullover Crunch Up
- Soccer Throws
- Side Throws
- Decline Push-Ups
- In/Out Jump Squats
- Overhead Lunges
- Single Leg Reverse Lunges
- Plank Ladders
- Walkover Push-Ups
- Single Arm Bicep Curls
- Plank Ups
- Side To Side Step Overs
- Incline Close Push-Ups
- Burpees
- Seated Slams
- Swings
- Steering Wheels
Enjoy!
