If you spend as much time online as I do then you have surely seen your fair share of fitness blogs and websites. If you search the term “fitness” on YouTube, you’ll find almost 10 million results.
The point is that the Internet is filled to the brim with fitness advice and instruction and it can be extremely overwhelming. Who to listen to? What to follow? When to workout? These are all common questions that can leave you wondering what the hell to do.
In future videos, I will be breaking down some common misconceptions with regards to creating a proper exercise program and also will be creating workouts to help you regardless of your fitness level.
To get you started, today’s video is a very basic, yet effective workout that will get your whole body working with just 6 exercises. It can be done by a beginner or by an experienced person alike. You can do it in a circuit, for reps, or timed. Just try to spend at least 20 minutes on it and remember, it’s all about the intensity, not the counts.
Here are the 6 exercises:
- Bodyweight squats
- Bodyweight split squats
- Horizontal rows (on bar)
- Pushups
- Plank (elbows and toes)
- Farmer’s carry (kettlebell)

It’s be cool if you could add at least a brief text list to this post of your exercise recommendations, rather than requiring readers to watch a 13 minute video clip.
I agree, though, basic exercises, most of them bodyweight, are a great place to start, if for no other reason than that there are no excuses for not starting right this instant! No gym and no special gear required.
Good Point, adding it to the post now. As far as bodyweight training, yes it’s super simple and there literally is NO good excuse to not doing it.
Thanks for updating the post with a list! I appreciate it!
Sure thing!
