gearHere are some of the best resources I’ve found that will help you on the path to being the best version of yourself!

Over the last 25 years, I’ve spent a ton of time (and money) trying every kind of fitness equipment, product, and supplement I could get my hands on and below I’ve listed out the things that have worked the best for me.

Everything here is designed to help you get leaner, stronger, healthier and I personally use all of it.

Fitness Equipment

Isokinetics Foam Roller
Isokinetics Foam Roller
Foam rolling is the shit, period. If you aren’t doing it, you are doing your body a great disservice. Most guys are in desperate need of self-myofacial release (SMR) and you’ll feel a huge difference after using it for a while. Get one then watch this video to see how to use it!
kettlebells
CAP Cast Iron Kettlebells
Kettlebells are a great functional training tool and can be used for so many different movements. And it may be cooler to use KB’s that look like monkeys or demons but these are way cheaper and work just as well!
assisted pullup bands
Assisted Pull-up & Resistance Power Stretch Bands
If you aren’t doing pull-ups or some variation of them, you need to be. Pull-ups are the king of the upper body exercises but unfortunately most people can’t do any. This band will help offset your body weight and allow you to do them!
weighted vest
ZFOsports 60 lb. Adjustable Weighted Vest
When bodyweight workouts just aren’t cutting it, strap on one of these bad boys and get to work! Pull-ups, pushups, squats, and even running (don’t say I didn’t warn you!) become MUCH more challenging.
battle ropes
Black Poly Dac Battle Ropes
Get ready to smoke your entire body using this super mobile tool. There is so much you can do with ropes and they are a great functional piece of equipment. I throw mine in my trunk and break it out when I’m at a park.
Garage Fit Jump Rope
I love this thing. I’ve tried dozens of ropes, from swivel ones to leather and this one seems to work the best. It’s one of the cheapest, yet most effective, tools you can use to help you shed some fat and get fit.
WOSS Suspension Trainer
TRX Suspension Trainer
This handy dandy contraption has been with me every day for the last few years. I use it extensively for my own training and for my clients. It’s especially useful for guys who travel a lot because it’s super light and hangs anywhere.
AccuMeasure Body fat Calipers
AccuMeasure Body Fat Testing Kit
Tracking your weight or BMI is not nearly as important as tracking your body fat percentage when your goal is fat loss. Testing can be a pain in the ass but this little device will allow you to take your own measurements with relative accuracy.

Foods

Epic Meat Bars
Epic Grass Fed Meat Bars
As weird as a “meat bar” sounds, these are a MUCH healthier alternative to a Slim Jim or most other packaged foods. Keep a few handy for when you need a snack and if you’re eating a Primal/Paleo diet, these are perfect!
Green Superfood
Amazing Grass Green Superfood
This all natural powder is packed with antioxidants, herbs, berries, and a ton of other stuff. Take it with water (a little blah) or juice or even in a smoothie. You should start feeling the difference in a few weeks after taking it too.
fish oil
Dr. Tobias Omega 3 Fish Oil
The benefits from taking a high quality fish oil daily includes supporting healthy cholesterol levels, reducing joint pain, helps with maintaining strong bones, and can even help boost your mood.
Optimum Nutrition Opti-Men Multivitamin
Optimum Nutrition Opti-Men Multivitamins
Even when eating a very clean diet (most of us aren’t), we are still not getting enough of the vitamins, minerals, and trace minerals our bodies need. This has over 75 active ingredients and is a great supplement to your daily diet.
Chomps Beef Sticks
Chomps Grass Fed Beef Snack Sticks
This is another great snack, especially for those Primal enthusiasts. No hormones or nitrates either, which is a very good thing!
Alter Eco Dark Chocolate
Alter Eco Organic Dark Chocolate
Who doesn’t love chocolate? For those of you with a sweet tooth but trying to be good, this is a healthier alternative to most sweets. It’s also Primal approved, BAM!
