Ruari Fairbairns started something called the One Year No Beer (OYNB) Challenge and I had heard about his program but to be honest, it didn’t really resonate with me because I’m not a drinker.
But when I started really looking at what he was doing, I realized that not only has he helped tens of thousands of people, but what he does runs so much deeper than just avoiding alcohol. It affects so many other aspects of people’s lives from relationships, health, and quality of life.
Ruari has created the framework for people to succeed and does it all within a community setting, which makes it so much more powerful. He shares his stats on this and why being part of a tribe creates a much more significant result.
Just the fact that 87% of people who try his 90 day OYNB Challenge go on to pursue the 365 day challenge, says a tremendous amount about how much of an impact he is having.
One thing that really stuck with me was when he said “no child has ever enjoyed a parent with a hangover” and he’s right. Getting drunk and being hungover is a totally selfish act and we need to understand this as parents.
He also talks about the future of OYNB and how his plans are to grow it into a global brand and venture out into different markets and judging from the work he’s doing already, I won’t be surprised to see his name in the weight loss industry, food industry, or even the financial industry.
This show is one you need to listen to even as a casual drinker and you’ll learn what the difference of going without alcohol can make in every area of your life.
What you’ll learn:
- The two biggest instigators for anger
- Why willpower isn’t the answer to giving up alcohol
- The stats behind binge drinking parents and their children’s propensity for binge drinking later in life
- The financial cost of giving up alcohol, even for a short time
